How can I fix this wall?

We had some spongy protective foam on the corners of our walls and tables to protect our son as he was learning to walk, but now we've decided to remove it and behind the one section we've discovered the wall is actually separating from the bricks behind it. Is there anything we can do to fix this, or do we need to get an interior plasterer in? Here is a picture of it:

Basically it's like the whole layer of paint is actually on some kind of thin cardboard which has separated from the bricks. It's a new build flat, so I was thinking of trying to get it covered under the NHBC warranty, but it might not be covered since we put the spongy stuff on the wall. Seems poor that the entire thing separated from the bricks though.

Push it back together, slam a load of filler in the gaps, sand it down and paint it. And as ci_newman stuff, pretend it never happened :p

Looks like the skim coat coming away from the blockwork which is worrying to say the least.

Fill with gripfill, duck tape and pull together then fill, sand and paint and move out

Is it that bad? :D

I was hoping you'd chip in since I know you're a surveyor from the other thread on new builds. So I should squirt some of that glue in and then duct tape it round the corner to hold it against the wall so it can glue together?

I thought it was quite weird that they'd used some cardboard thing on the wall, I thought they always plastered straight on the brick/concrete then painted over. I guess this is cheaper.

Burn the flat down.
