Cant seem to get my G.Skill Ripjaw DDR3 PC3-12800C8 to get above 1333mhz without crashing on prime 95 :(

I have put them back to standard settings now, what should i do to get them to run better?
ramfreq.jpg

Processor - Core i5
M/B - MSI GD65 P55
P/S OCZ 700watt Modular.

my cpu is overclocked to 3.5ghz
My motherboard supports 1600mhz :) i wouldnt of bought it if it didnt

Its when i set the voltage or the timeings, my pc will either go back to original settings, or it will fail prime95. Ill try memtest as above and see what happens.

Ok memtest looks quite a fiddle to get to run and check :(
im 100% sure both sticks work. Both show up and show same settings.

Ill have ago at settings the ram timings again.

Got it, i put my CPU to x21 and lowerd the FSB, put my ram voltage to 1.75 and it seemed to do the trick :)

I have the same memory but on an asus board. For me it was simply a case of going to the option int he bios and selecting 1600 instead of 1333, it rebooted and a voila all done. Do you ahve that option in your bios?

yes i do have the option. But when i selected it, it always went back to 1333.

Running the memory at 1.75v is high, I think Intel recommends max of 1.65v as I believe it can course damage to the memory controller on the chip.

Running mem test is just the case of download and make a bootable disc using the ISO that mem test downloads as, reboot with the cd/dvd you made and mem test will run by it's self :)

There is a USB boot thing on the website Ill try the mem test tomorrow when im awake :)
I just rebooted on 1.65 volts and it keeps coming up "overclocked failed". So its definatly lack of voltage.
