How can i stop or improve this

Hey,

So I've noticed while watching YouTube that i get horrible quality sometimes on certain channels and i don't know if its because of some sort of compression but this is how i see some vids (This is in 1440p) and my monitor is 1440p.

As you can see the video quality is all messed up, Blacks look terrible...this isn't a live stream either its a proper upload that was uploaded 5 hours ago (at the time of making this post)

I get the same sometimes when watching YouTube on my 50 4K tele too with YouTube set to 4k.

Is it Virgin media causing this compression or just the way YouTube is doing its vids to presumably save bandwidth or something.

My connection is fine, Rock solid.

Very likely that it was just uploaded that way, as well. Use one of the YouTube downloader websites and see what the original looks like playing back on your PC.
