How can I stop this mouse scrolling behaviour?

At the risk of looking like a dunce... I plugged in a new mouse yesterday, the thing is when I scroll down a page and let go, the page continues scrolling for a wee bit before gently coming to a rest. What/where can I stop this behaviour? Google and DDG and Bing are all useless, all I get are irrelevant results.

I have the scroll set to 3 lines, like the old mouse, but it never continued on like this does. Happens in all browsers. It's a Logitech M310, Windows 11.

Does the wheel continue turning after you let go - could indicate a wheel/spring failure? It might just be that you're not used to the sensitivty of the scroll?

Does it do it in Windows Explorer too? If not, then it could be down to smooth scrolling... most browsers have a toggle for turning off smooth scrolling under the hood.

Does the mouse wheel continue moving?
Forgot which model
But logitech had one where the balance of the wheel
Wasn't correct
People were actually drilling a hole in the wheel
To bring it into balance
This probably was only if you were free scrolling it

This is what I was encountering when searching, the mouse is in perfect working order. It may be the autoscroll @xashzx but it never did this before, only when plugging this mouse in, been over all mouse settings in the settings panel and the logitech console.

The web page still keeps going even after the wheel is no longer turning. It does this in Chrome, Firefox, Edge, but not in Vivaldi curiously.

It's not a big issue, just a strong irritation.

In the description it says "Line by line scrolling".

What happens if you set scroll to 1 line in windows?
It still 'overscrolls' but only less so. And I noticed it seems to happen more in one tab than another, seemingly randomly.

I tried unchecking 'Scroll inactive windows when hovering over them' but it changes nothing. It must just be this mouse is buggy on my system, it's up to date on its firmware.

Funny thing is I've spent loads on different mice lately as my fingers are getting a little arthritic, looking likely I might have to get yet another one!

Edit: Just noticed this behaviour, the slower and less distance I scroll, the greater the 'overscroll', If I scroll down a larger page height it stops pretty quick. It's like an inertia thing.

It's a usb plug plugged into the front of my mini pc less than a foot away, it shares the dongle with my Logitech keyboard, actually they both came as a package, could there be a conflict? It's using the Logi inifying program.

Made a wee clip to try and demonstrate, little scroll wheel flicks the page keeps scrolling before coming to a halt, this is Firefox - https://imgur.com/a/VgCPM1w

Changed to an old mouse I dug out, and everything is working fine. It appears it wasn't any Windows settings, but rather it was the mouse itself being tempramental. Downvote for the Logitech M310, the old cheap Tecknet from Amazon works fine and has more features.

I appreciate the troubleshooting help.
