I have just bought the icore7 920 bundle from overclockers with the 6 Gigs of ram and Gigabyte UD5 MB ect. However, Windows Vista 64 bit version only shows that the Icore is running at 2.67 Ghz.

Is there a program I can run in windows to check that my Icore7 is indeed overclocked and running at 4Ghz as advertised?

thanks amos

Hi

I downloaded CPU-Z and ran the prog. However, it does not indicate that my system is running at 4 Ghz, it just states that it is a icore 7 920 at 2.66.

I am new to this overclocking game, am I missing something here.

Look at the bottom left hand side where it says: "Core Speed" - that is what is currently running rather than the rated speed which is I guess what you are looking at.

If the speed jumps about, SpeedStep is enabled. Run a stress-testing program such as Prime95 to see it rise to full speed.
