Ordered a 5770 with my christmas money. Was wondering could i still keep my 9800GT in my pc for physx and use the 5770 as my main card?

Is there any website what shows the benchmark of just 2 separate choosen cards? its so i can see the difference between the 9800GT and the 5770 without looking at a large list of cards and getting lost.

You need a motherboard with 2x PCI-e x16 slots - tho the slot the 9800GT is in doesn't have to be running at x16 - the PCI PhysX cards ran fine off the bandwidth of x1.

You will need the PhysX portion of the nVidia drivers - the rest can go... you can download that from the nVidia website stand alone as well.

Depending on whether nVidia are still blocking ATI cards or not you might need the unofficial patch to enable that combination.

Performance wise the 5770 is roughly twice as fast as a 9800GT.

Both my slots are x16 and in crossfire/sli there x8 if that matters.

What about settings on the pc? is it like you said just patch and away you go?

nVidia's FAQ still mentions PhysX being blocked with ATI GPUs so looks like you'll need hacked drivers or a patch?

Can I use an NVIDIA GPU as a PhysX processor and a non-NVIDIA GPU for regular display graphics?
No. There are multiple technical connections between PhysX processing and graphics that require tight collaboration between the two technologies. To deliver a good experience for users, NVIDIA PhysX technology has been fully verified and enabled using only NVIDIA GPUs for graphics.
