How can I use this external HDD on my Mac?

I have a USB external HDD that I used to use with my PC for backups. I think I formatted it as either NTFS or FAT32 (can't remember). But when I plug it into my Macbook Pro, it shows up fine and I can access all the files. BUT they're all read only! I can't write anything to the drive

It reports the file system as "Windows NT filesystem". Is this the problem?

Is there a way to make it accessible to both PC & Mac?

Sounds like it's NTFS, if you format it too FAT32 it should work.

Ok so i'll copy everything back onto my PC, reformat it as FAT32. Ta
