How cheap do Squeezeboxes go?

Want something cheap that lets me stream stuff from my computer to my bathroom. I would use my phone (there's plenty of Android apps that do it), but I don't really want to keep an expensive phone in a room that gets full of steam when I shower. I've thought of just buying a cheap radio (and that's what I'll do if I can't get a squeezebox cheaply enough) but I would rather listen to podcasts or my own MP3s than just random radio stations. Any suggestions?

True but then he'd need to set up speakers and an amp aswell into what i presume is his shower ;)

SB Radio would be your best bet. Logitech sometimes have refurbished ones going quite cheap although i'm sure they're only about £115 new (or were when i bought one)

To be honest though i use my iphone in the shower with an ipod dock and its always been fine. Just keep it away from where water might splash

I got a wireless speaker for my girlfriend about a year ago (in the shape of a duck!) for about £20 so perhaps that's a way to go.

Alternatively fasten a pair of speakers together and screw a handle to the top then bring it in from another room, trailing a wire during your shower.

Sounds like squeezeboxes are still a bit too expensive considering I don't really spend _that_ much time in the bathroom... :D The £20 wireless speaker sounds like a good option though, I'll definitely look it up! Do you know if it'll get reception over about 5-6m and a wall?

Should work ok, although it depends on your walls of course, even if you end up leaving your ipod outside the bathroom door it's still going to cause less damage than having inside the bathroom.

Oh wait, so it was an iPod dock, not a speaker? Well that rules it out, haven't got an iPod.

Can't you just sing in the bathroom?

;)

Tried it, can do the singing just fine, but my Ira Glass impression isn't good enough for me to also do This American Life podcasts in the bathroom. :p

I'm clearly looking at the wrong south American website, as the cheapest SBT seems to be on an Indian takeaway website at £200.

I think they have gone up in price :(
