about 18" - 24" away from a Dell 24"/Sony 19"

unless iam watching a film the i`ll sit back in my chair to about 36" + away ..

about 1.5m-2m while watching movies or playing games with joystick

some of ya sit ~60cm from 24" ...That's well close
