How come the new Razer Orbweaver is so expensive?

I'm a big fan of the nostromo and i really want to upgrade to the orbweaver but it costs more than double!

I don't see anything completely revolutionary about the orbweaver apart from a few better places keys.

Overclockers, any reason why these are so expensive?

The Orbweaver uses mechanical switches, that probably accounts for the difference in price.

Because it's Razer...

Other companies can sell entire mechanical keyboard for half that price.

Get a G13. That thing looks plain daft.

Still no analogue stick on these things? On my nostromo I just used the dpad for 4 more buttons, but I would so like it to be a full analog so I can use it for movement in mmo's for instance.

I also use it for four more buttons. I don't know why they don't take the logical step.

The g13? I'll take a look but isnt that basically the nostromo?

Its just not worth shedding out the over £100 for something that is likely marginally better. It may not even be better considering you never know how something feels in your hand until you get it.

Cmon Overclockers admins, do a cut price for us hardcore gamers, this price is unfair

I would like to try one but that price is crazy! Razer must make some serious profit, but if people are stupid enough to buy at that price you cant blame them.

My biggest reservation is the synapse 2 software which was cack last time I used it and needed to be connected to net!!

Ive been using the Nostromo since it was made by Belkin,
Ie the N52

Simply put I cant play games without one.

The best thing about this keyboard is the Palm rest,
it fits my hand perfectly I can play for hours with
absolutely no pain. Ive tried most other gamepads
and they dont compare to this device.

When Belkin stopped making this and Razer took over
I was concerned, concerned they would mess up
this device by changing it....

At first they didnt, they released the Razer Nostromo
same device but different software.

Well they put a rubberised surface on the palm rest
which made it sticky after while, luckly I still have my broken
belkin ones and I swap out the razer palm rest for
the orginal hard plastic one from the Belkin.

Anyway, I am dismayed to see this new device, they have changed
to much....

That perfect palm rest is gone and the wheel.
Also Has the Thumb Button gone ? the one thats defaulted to the SPACE key ?

I will try this new device.....but im stocking up on Nostromos, already
the stock count is dwindling, i guess Raser will stop making this perfect device.
