How come we never see any Amd adverts on tv?

you still see, or used to see AMD adverts in print, however as stated, INTEL will pay 50%+ of the actual cost of the TV advert, for example, if they feature a class 1 processor, correct logo and official intel strapline.

they have a prolific marketing machine.

Just out of interest what is a "strapline"?

Just a silly thing really but how come intel advertise like mad on tv, in pee c world adverts and the like. But Amd dont?
Cos AMD don't have a retard marketing department, just HOW annoying is that Core 2 Duo advert? :p

i guss they dont need the extra advatising either as they are already selling faster then they can produce, so more interest generated from tv adds could put far too much pressure on them ;)

they make a lot of their Ferrari sponsorship status, i have seen lots of marketing collatoral showing ferrari and AMD.

similarly they used to produce a lot of instore POS featuring the benefits of AMD64, Hypertransport, etc...

however intel prefer the mass media approach and allocate funding thusly.

Tescos - Every little helps.
Homebase - Make your house a home.
Sainsburys - Try something new today.
Mcdonalds -I'm lovin it!
T Mobile - Simply Closer.
Nokia - Connecting People.
Halifax - Always giving you extra!

Get my drift? ;) :D

people that buy from adverts wont buy amd its as simple as that. amd are for the more pc enlightened people such as gamers or people that want performance, of course the c2d will give more, but most people will see the intel sign on an advert and think ooo they must be good and get the cheapest

i got mine cuz i knew i could clock it and i was on a budget, but people that buy amd are people that want an amd, people that buy from adverts are idiots and will buy what ever they see, intel has been advertised and was around more and is more recognized than amd by pc intolerant people

if that made any sense to anyone then i did what i wa smeant to do :D !!!!!

Was there not an AMD advert that slagged of Intel a few years ago? It got banned I think... :(

Would have that been in a magazine? I remember one for the first K7 (slot A) which had an intel sat in the corner with the amd in the foreground with some choice words about power and speed lol

answer to your question...because timing is right now and intel is going to earn **** lots of money from conroe. amd was totally unprepared for challenge

Nah, it was like a guy who was about to be run over by a train... There was a dig at Intel being slow I think... It was for their K7 processors though. *goes to look*

Edit: God, it was a worse advert than I remembered... No wonder they gave up.

That advert was awesome :D Ah man, I should go out and buy an AMD processor so a train doesn't run me down.

Nah seriously, I found that advert hilarious. In a good way.
