Hello
Straight onto the problem, bulleted brief facts for convenience..
1) I am working for a company (along with 5 others) who are currently loaning desks in the HQ of another company.
2) We connect to our own company network using VPN via guest WiFi access in the building where we are renting desks.
3) To do the above, you need to first enter user credentials for access to the guest WiFi, accept a user agreement / terms and then start up our VPN software.
4) We have no access to the local printers in the other company's office but have access to an old, disused printer from our company that I'm looking to relocate.
5) Our IT support is based in India, do not fully understand our situation and are not willing to provide a network printer until we have had our fixed network installed (in about 3 months time!)
6) I wish to set up the printer that I've aquired so we can all share it efficiently without having to drop our VPN connections, keep plugging USB cables into the printer etc.
Is the above possible? I assume not given the fact that complex steps have to be taken to get on the network?
Would the best way be for me to install the printer on my local machine (or others) and share it's access from there? This would naturally need the machine with the printer connected to remain on the network. Whoever gets in the office first connects the printer etc?
I have access to the local admin passwords for the affected PCs.
Thanks for your time
Mike
