How could i run these games with these parts?

i will have

E6600 conroe (probably at stock for a while)
2gb DDR2 6400 ram
Ati X1950XT 256mb

these are games i want to run

Company of heroes
Medieval 2
BF2
BF2142
FEAR


hopefully at 1680x1050 but if not at 1280x1050.

With a E6400, 2gig RAM and an X1800XT, I can run all of those (except BF2142, I've not got it) at full detail, 1440x900, so you should be able to your preferred resolution without any trouble.
 
thanks guys, just i thought the 256mb might hold me back a bit.

so this card should be fine til mid next year when i will get a cheaper DX10 card.


ps: what about oblivion?

That card will easily last you a year, even an X1950Pro would, and 256MB will not hold you back at all. You can expect to run Oblivion maxed out with HDR+AA, I (almost) did on my X1800XT and do on my X1900XT easily.

The conroes are great overclockers and you can easily achieve 3.0ghz on a good cooler, like the one I have very good and very cheap!!! dont use the stock one
 
Should run BF2, Fear easily, played both of those maxed out in 1280x1024 (TFT) here on my x1800 XT, even Oblivion maxed out with 2xAA/16xHQ AF+HDR, an x1950 XT will last for ages yet, i wouldn't worry about Dx10 as its not like Dx10 games are gona come flooding out when Vista hits is it, and the odd game that has Dx10 will work in Dx9 under XP as well anyway, so your gona miss nowt. :)
