How different is Opteron 185 from FX-60?

I have access to an Opteron 185 CPU to replace my existing FX-55 running in my Gigabyte K8N-SLI motherboard. The Gigabyte web site lists a number of Opteron cpus which are supported as well as the FX-60 CPU which is the Opteron 185's closest match but no 185 is specifically listed. Now I know that this obviously means that Gigabyte don't officially support this cpu but is there any chance it might work on this board? Am I likely to do any damage by trying it?

Any comments welcome :)

Installed the CPU yesterday and it worked a treat! CPU type was detected correctly and multiple cores were detected by Windows on boot.

So for future reference for anyone, the Opteron 185 cpu does work on the Gigabyte K8NXP-SLi board, even though its listed as "unsupported" on Gigabytes site. Thanks for your input Mikeymike!
