Hi

ive connected my Motorolla X Play (android) to my PC and selected File Transfer, but when i see it on my PC, I can only see the internal memory and not the 32Gb external that is in there

under settings and "storage & USB" , the 32Gb card is showing up

how do i see it on my PC as i want to transfer some files across without taking my case apart to take the memory card out

thanks

Had a quick search and it seems to be a common issue with the X Play due to the Marshmallow update. The recommnded fix from Moto is clearing the cache partition but users have reported for it not to work. No one seems to have found an actual fix however.

+1 to Airdroid, another option is to set up a FTP server on the phone if you prefer using Windows Explorer.

Are you transferring from the phone to pc ?
As a workaround could you not copy the files to internal memory and then the pc will see them ?
Do it in reverse if it's pc to phone

i was going to transfer to my phone, but i couldnt see the external memory card, so only way i could do it , is to transfer to my phones internal then across (but its too small)

I wouldn't worry too much,if it is indeed an issue with Marshmallow you'll be getting Nougat shortly and I'd imagine they will have fixed it if it's a known problem
