Hi all,

Just installed Vista Home Premium.... Please can some explain how I install or turn on the Windows Defragmenter?

Thanks

It should be on automatically, you can't view it like you could in XP.

Its in All Programs / Accessories / System Tools / Deframenter on my Vista pc.

All you can do is run it on a schedule.

You can run it whenever you like, not just on a schedule.

Don't bother with the crappy one in Vista, the one in XP was better. Get JKDefrag GUI it's the best one I have used on Vista, you could also look at Defraggler but I found JKDefrag GUI a lot better.

Vista's defrag isn't as bad as everyone makes out, don't judge it on the fact you don't have a percentage bar. What Vista does to defrag can't forsee how long it will take hence why they removed it. Its more inteligent than a standard move every defragmenter
