how do I bar a thread showing up on a forum page

some of the threads on forums I do not read but can't help clicking them.
I have gone down all the thread I want to bar but can't see how.

There are certain subjects that really annoy me for their stubborn thinking and some people become very caustic in their language.
I am at the stage now where I don't even want to read the thread anymore even though other posters put up good point they are always beaten down.
If it's there I an tempted to click on it just to see what the next reply is.

I do understand I can bar a poster but just wondered if I could bar the thread itself from popping up on my page.

At the time I was writing this mrk's thread was directly below mine - This has nothing to do with mrk.

I only asked a simple question that required a simple yes or no.

Now if I could bar a thread this is the first one I would bar - I have never read such ???? - I wish I had never bothered - There again it is GD and I should have known better.
