How do i burn 8gigs of data onto mutiple dvd's

I have an old pioneer dvd writer, and i want to write 8gigs of data. How do i get nero to automatically split the data across 2 dvd's?

You split the data and write it 4gb on one and another 4gb on the other?

You put half the data onto one disc, and the remaining data on the other?

Either by putting half the files onto one disc, or if it's one 8GB file then split it using winrar.

Well that sounds simple but surely thats the hard way of doing it??

I need some software such as nero that automatically does it for me. There are 1000's of files, and manually splitting them is going to be a headache and i run the risk of missing some in the process.

if there are thousands of files, then use 7zip to compress them (with normal compression active) into one file (do a test, it might all compress to under 4.5gb)

you can tell 7zip to split at 4.5gb

reading/writing thousands of files from a dvd is a knightmare, it'll take ages to do

in my old job i had to work with huge folders and zipping them up was always tons faster (and better)

yeah you want something like winrar with the 4.4gb option but burning off to DVD rather than compressing.

Thanks fellas. After completing 54% using winrar, i ran out of space on my C drive, so i've had to alter the settings so it goes to my other partition, and start over again. Took ages just to get to 54% as well!

disable AV when doing it, and don't set highest compression..
