How do i change icons?

Hi guys I have managed to change the icons to most of my apps but for some reason ical and pages icon wont change on the dock even though in the application menu the new icons are showing.

I have tried deleting the shortcut from dock and creating a new one but that didn't help.

Go to the Terminal, and type

Code: 
killall Dock

Try clearing the cache or change the icon again if it fails.

Done killall Dock no effect but how do i clear cache and will it delete all the icon changes i have made.

I have also tried changing the icon again and however it appears on the application menu itself but when i drag it to the Dock it retains it's original icon.

Navigate to..

Macintosh HD > Library > Cache

Home folder > Library > Cache

Delete the content of both folders to clear cache.

It won't clear your icons, but it might sort out the issues you've having with those ones which are showing as changed in Finder, but not on the dock.

I can tell you exactly why you can't do iCal because I've just spent twenty minutes working it out!

iCal has two icons, one for the main application in finder, and one for the dock. This is because the dock icon changes according to the date. You've only effectively changed the main one.

Go to /applications and right click on iCal, choose show package contents then go into Contents/Resources

The two files you need to replace are App.icns which is the main application icon AND App-empty.icns which is the one that appears on the dock.

Ta-da!

Pages is probably similar but I don't have it.

 
Hmm.
That should be the file, after I changed mine I repaired permissions then restarted.

Out of interest, what icon set is that?
 
Disk Utility, highlight the drive and select repair permissions.

I was after the complete icon set, got a link?
 
Finally managed to change it. This is what i did, after doing the above I

Copy and paste App-empty.icns once again but this time to:

Applications / iCal / Contents / Resources / iCaldockextra.bundle / Contents / Resources
 
Well found! Mine worked without swapping that one, but I've just done it anyway.
