How do I change the colour of this PNG?

Using Fireworks CS3 and would like to change the colour of this PNG which is a drab grey to either a dark earthy brown or green.

Could someone give me a heads up on how to achieve this?. I know I should know this as I've done it before but I can't for the life of me recall how. Would like the 'transparency' to remain at the same level but just have the colour change. Or would it be easier to just create a new transparent image of the same size and add a colour to it?.

Add a Filter -> Adjust -> Colour Fill
