How do I connect up my old 5.1 system?

Hi all, I have an old analogue 5.1 sound system from my computer (Videologic ZXR-550) and wish to hook it up to my xbox 360 to have surround in games and also in DVD's, of course the xbox only seems to have a optical out for surround sound --- best and cheapest way of making it work ? need ideas, some sort of amp or is there a gadget that just does it and does that only thus making it cheaper?

One possible option maybe.

I use this as I have the Creative gigaworks 7.1 speakers. So now I can use these speakers for my PC, Xbox 360, TV and DVD player.

Your not wrong there. I bought mine for about £50-£60 a year or two ago. Check out this link, it's the cheapest I can see it for:

looks like tis only way then, it work on my 5.1 videologics I assume ? apparently the bass only works prob connected to a creative card? this wrong ? will b pluggin into a xbox 360

Well thats the problem I am not sure. I use it and other people I know who use it, use it with other Creative products such as there speakers and soundcards. It will definately work with the Xbox 360 thats the only assurance I can give you.

You will be taking a chance. If you do decide to go with the one on Ebay then see if the sellers got a returns policy just in case.
