How do I do a memory test on a MAC?

Hi there,

Think my memory is broken and was wondering how you do a memory test on a mac.

Can you just boot Memtest86 and use that? I have an early 2009 MacBook

dont have that disk with me can I not use memtest or would it not work?????

....and the Memtest OSX runs within the operating system which wasn't what I was hoping for as I have 4GB of RAM.

Im now back home so have got my hardware test cd and am going to run that, its not on the installation disk though, its on the applications disk and you have to press the D key to get it to boot.

Also, is one pass enough (took 1.5hours) or should i do several passes?
