I want to edit an mp3 file to chop the start off. Is there a freeware app that doess this or something in iLife that will do it?

Here's one way, but it converts to AAC

- Import your song to iTunes.
- Right click - Get Info
- Options tab
- Set start and finish time and click OK
- Right click on song, Convert to AAC
- New track created which is cropped appropriately.

Haven't used garageband, but it should be able to do it easily

Looks good............

i googled it and found 'mp3 trimmer' worked fine for me.

I already used the iTunes technique however. Track in question was No 13 Baby by The Pixies - just wanted that guitar at the end for a DVD I am making.
