how to identify what is connected to my router?

Moved from a skyQ router to a tplink ac1200 vr400 got it all set up and am happy with it. Reconnected all my devices and able to identify all of them except 1wireless address, i only have 6 so you would think it would be easy. this 1 device is the only 1 on the 2.4ghx channel, i have connected

my iphone (do have watch but not connected that as such
samsung tv
sky hd
wifes android phone
alexa echo
and unknown

is there anyway of tracing it via its mac address or ip number?? so i can identify what it is? could it be the routers wireless client ip is 192.168.1.7

I had a similar situation and I can’t remember how I deduced it but it was my house alarm. Given its connecting to the 2.4Ghz network that’s often a thing with Chinese IoT stuff which only do 2.4 Did you at all forget about a smart plug, light bulb or something maybe?

Depending on the features of your router, you could set it a reserved IP address in your router then block that IP address from internet access. Wait to see what stops working that you forgot about and you’ll find your culprit.

Change the Wifi password, reconnect your known devices and see if it reappears. If not then you might eventually find something that isn't working.
