How Do I Find The Password In A Used Computer ?

I bought a used Acer computer for $15 a couple of years ago. The seller gave me the system password on a little piece of paper (you know how that goes) and I lost it. Grrrrrr. How can I find the password ? Thanks

are you trying to recover something from it? if so, you can pull teh HDD/SSD and plug it into USB to SATA converter and get data off that way by using another PC.

sounds a bit dubious that you got someone's PC which has a password on which you didnt change and now lost the password or forgotten which you kinda need to use to get into the system in the first place.

As mentioned, if you want to retrieve data, pull the hard drive and put it in another computer, otherwise just reformat it and start again

But as its was not you pc, not sure what you want to access

It depends which password it is you are trying to retrieve. If it is a system startup / BIOS password there is usually a jumper on the motherboard. If it is the Windows password you can reset the administrator password using this https://pogostick.net/~pnh/ntpasswd/

Assuming BitLocker wasn't enabled on the drive
