Hi,

I want to flash my DG834Gv2 to UberGT firmware (have been told that this is the best setup for Be BB)

literally have no idea where to start though.

Could anyone point me in the direction of an idiot's guide to flashing routers or similar?

Cheers,

Fred

OK I've updated the firmware and input all of the router settings, Static IP etc etc.

Internet working fine. My connection speed is only 6mb though (NB - IIRC this is roughly the same as the speed I was getting through the BeBox). Should I be worried about this / trying to increase it (I am on the BePro 24meg deal), or is this normal?

OK Have realised that DG834G v2 is not ADSL2+ compatible.

Have invested £40 in an DG834GT. Plan is to flash with UberGT firmware and make hay :D

If you were getting roughly the same speed through the Be Box then its more likely your line limiting the rate not the modem.

- Could you post the modem stats from the BeBox?

Also for Be Pro I do seem to remember that the first few days you have it the speed can jump around a little bit while they test your line.

If it turns out you are only getting 6Mbit because of your line though I would just ask them to downgrade your service to the 8Mbit one.

Um, the DG834G v2 is ADSL2+ compatible ...

It would've been a better idea to paste in what your attenuation and SNR figures are before potentially wasting £40 on another router.

i didn't think it was, i thought it was the V3 that is adsl2+.

when i looked at the manual for the v2 on the netgear site it didn't say adsl2+ but on the manual for the v3 it dose.

Doh :(

What should I do then? Sell on the GT and stick with the v2, or sell the v2 and stick with the GT?

Also - If I switch to using the GT, is there a way I can migrate all of my port forwarding and wireless settings from the v2?
