I have to admit that I think this question sounds a bit silly, as it can't be that hard can it... well, I can't find a solution!

Windows 7 only allows the drive to be formatted as NTFS or exFAT, both of which are not recognised by the PS3.

Is there any way that I can do this within Windows 7, or can anyone recommend some basic freeware that would do the job for me?

I can format my 8GB USB memory stick as FAT32 and it works on the PS3, but I wanna put all of my movies onto my 320GB WD Passport external USB hard drive for convenience

Thanks all!

Diskpart has NOT worked... :(

After a long wait, it had reached 20% so I just left it for a bit!

Now that I've come back, the message on screen is:

Virtual Disk Service Error:
The Volume Size Is Too Big.

Back to square 1. Any other ideas please?

Stand down - all sorted! Just downloaded Partition Master to my old XP netbook, and formatted the drive using that.

Working perfectly as intended on my PS3 with MP4 movie files - cheers all :D
