How do i get 1280x1024

In 3D Mark 06 I cannot select 1280x1024 resolution. I could set it in some games before on my X1800XT and on desktop. Desktop looked a bit messed up before on ATI drivers and now i have a 8800GT it looks even more messed up.

I used it in DOD source and it was fine (it just looked a bit stretched)

I have an Acer AL1916W screen with the monitor drivers properly installed. Is there a way of adding a custom resolution to use in RivaTuner or Nvidia options?

Someone else must have the same 19" screen as mine and used 1280x1024 res before

Your screen doesn't physically have 1024 vertical pixels so it wouldn't (or at least, shouldn't) be possible to run. Unless no picture was displayed while you forced the res.

I pressed the menu button and it said 1280x1024 when i set that res. Im sure source allows it. however it might not be true 1280x1024

How does everyone with a 19" screen run 1280x1024?

Your resolution is 1440x900 (16:10), you can't display 1280x1024.

If you had a non widescreen 19" then you would be able to display it, as most, if not all 19" tft's have 1280x1024 (5:4) as their native res.

how come everyone can use 1280x1024 in mark 06 if they have a 19" widescreen. The default res is set to 1280x1024 but on mine goes to 1280x900 i think.

Is 1440x900 the same but for widescreen. On a sidenote 1440x900 is actually less pixels than 1280x1024 but I seem to remember DOD source having lower fps in 1400x900 compared to 1280x1024
