I have onboard Bluetooth that is limited when I use onboard wireless , eg when I connect a Bluetooth device the computer wont browse the internet due to a comflict. comouter in cig, I can disable the onboard Bluetooth through device manager, and use a generic Bluetooth adaptor fine but I always have to disable the onbaord Bluetooth for this to work as the second Bluetooth adaptor installs. but wont work it throws error 10 in device manager and device not functioning when I have two Bluetooth adaptors install the second Bluetooth refuses to work.

I have hear u can get it to work but needs a little work but cant figure how to do it. one way is to edit registry but the registry key I need to change the permissions on, wont change permissions it says its not allowed.

anyone know how this can or could be done ?

thanks

steve

I can't as I don't know which one it is. I could unlock settings I bios . But I am wanting 2 bluetooth adaptors as the obboard bluetooth adaptor is very flake when WiFi is also used as it's a dual card WiFi and bluetooth to gather from killer network. If I can just add another bluetooth device to work whenvironment I need to connect my dualshock 4 then I would be happy.

Thing is windows won't allow 2 dongles. They install but which ever registers second gets an error and wont work in device manager . I can disable either and have the other work but I can't get them to work when there both enabled .

Apparently it can be done and is something to do with drivers and settings , but I cannot find specific informat ion about the subject and wondered if anyone here had the expertese on bow to do this.

Thanks

Steve

Sorry I'm still not clear why you want both to work when you know one is unreliable. Why not get another USB one if you know that way works?

Have you tried removing the Killer software and using the driver only? It could be somehow affecting the BT's reliability if it's part of the wifi card.

Alternatively, maybe it would be easier just to replace the wifi/BT card with an intel one? Assuming it can be replaced.

I don't know if two usb dongles will work if I am having the trouble I am having now with the two I already have. I will try remOving the killer network software and installing drivers only and see if that helps.

Have Un installed killer network and bluetooth drivers and have installed stand alome drivers for both network and bluetooth and problem is still apparent .

Yes that's what I have been doing but it bugs me that it's not 100% sorted and was hoping I could work away around it. Looks like I will have to disable on board bluetooth and use a separate bluetooth adaptor.

Silly little problem .

Thank's

Or replace the entire network card. A quick look (assuming it's your laptop in your sig) shows it's mini PCIe so shouldn't be so hard to do.

Yes that's right it's a mini PCIe. The motherboard also has other PCIe slots the numbers on the connectors are the same. Thing is if I replace it with WiFi only then could I use one of the other slots for a replacement inbuilt bluetooth save carrying dongles about.

This is another option, but I have not researched laptop versions of PCIe slots so dont know the right way to go about it and it can be expensive buying wrong PCIe cards lol.

Seriously looking at what I could do to replace the inbuilt bluetoother and WiFi with better alternatives.
Thank's

Steve

Ps there are three other slot's that look the Same one contains the PCIe SSD 128mb. Don't know if they are to be used to upgrade to SSD raid or if they can be used for other devices .

Thanks again lol

Steve

It's also a latop that has been going with many revisions and models I upgraded to 16gb. Wish I had looked at better memory as original could be made to run at 1833 instead of 1600 . Original ram would do 1833 or one lower or case speed at default 1600 but this new ram won't even run a lower case speed at default 1600 . And throws errors if set to 1833. Least I got dual channel for igpu when needed lol.

I did a fresh install of windows 10 from USB stick . Then installed the killer network and Bluetooth drivers only from there site withno included software. And it seems to be working fine with both wireless and Bluetooth working together now . So no need to add extra Bluetooth dongle.

Thanks

Steve
