hi

have started to experiment with AWN but am a bit reluctant to remove my top panel because there are some things there that i don't know how to work with AWN - that is:-
1) the Disk Mounter aplet(#)
2) Also there doesn't seem to be a shutdown/restart applet in AWN
3) and the NetworkManager Applet.
4) i also have an icon in the top panel that opens the Compiz Fusion start and manage icon - however this opens to the top system tray, so if i remove the top panel how do i access it?

(#)The built in mount applet in AWN doesn't seem very good and doesn't pick up everything e.g. for me thats my windows partition and one of my optical drives

is there anything i can do to fix this?

many thanks

1) works ok for me, the stacks plugger thing works fine too.
2) there is one, you could make your own if you don't have it. Just make a launcher with the command line of gnome-session-save --kill (maybe it's gnome-session-save --shutdowndialog in 8.10 now, you can check with gnome-session-save --help)
3) Have to find out how to launch it manually from your own launcher like above, I guess.
4) Not sure, need to look into that.

I'd recommend dropping the bottom bar, replacing it with awn and keeping the top bar personally.
