How do i get linux on ps3?

So i am a total noob and have no idea, i have used some sites of google but i don't really get it. If somebody could tell me what to do step by step i would greatly appreciate it...And a link to which download to do would be appreciated!

Youll need to segment the harddrive in order to run a different OS on the PS3. The format facility is under system settings. So make sure you backup all your save games etc as the thing will be wiped clean. You then simply need Yellow Dog on a disc and then choose the install other os setting from system settings. Pretty easy.

Linux can run really slow on the PS3 as non of the consoles hardware is utilised. So Id recommend using lite shells and make use of the rpm packages.
