How do I get my 360 wireless to work?

Hi, I'm running a wireless network currently, however previously my 360 has always been downstairs by my router connected by ethernet.

I'd now like to move my 360 to another part of my house (next to my pc). Ideally I'd like to avoid the cost of the 360 adapter. As my PC is on my wireless network is there any way to set up a wired connection from the pc to the 360 sharing the connection?

Otherwise it's off to the shops to get the adapter.

interesting idea but as far as i know, there isn't. and if there is i can't imagine the connection being amazing.

You can run an ethernet cable directly from the pc to the xbox and enable network sharing in the connection properties on the pc. Worked quite well when I used my t-mobile internet dongle and shared that with the xbox.

Yes you can share the internet directly with a pc or a mac computer, it works absolutely perfectly. Needs about 10 mins of setting up if you are moderately computer savvy

Joystiq had a nice guide for the mac version of the process, I don't know if they had a pc guide too

The PC has to be on at the same time tho best to get the official xbox 360 wireless adapter

I was using a plugin ethernet adaptor's I received from BT for bt vision box. They work a treat as they transfer through the household power cables and its about 200mb/s.

Yep, powerline adapters are probably the best way.

On the original xbox I used to share the connection through my pc.

Just did this for a mate and his ps3, took a while to figure out why it wasnt working.....no ethernet drivers installed
