Har har get the laughs out of the way from the thread title, but I removed the label off of a box (seems waterproof enough) with some warm water and effort, but the stickyness is still on there. What do I do to get rid of the stuff? Was from an ordinary sticky label that you'd commonly see.

Thanks in advance.

Tis cardboard with a good waterproof finish, it seems. Hasn't soaked a drop. I'll give the soapy stuff a try then move onto IPA if it doesn't work. Thanks.

I think the most effective thing I've tried is a combination of rubbing with soapy water and my bare hands after it's dried up a bit.

I've also tried Isopropyl alcohol with tissues. Realised tissues was a bad idea, but it helps to show where it's still sticky :P

Also tried spraying the alcohol on my hands and doing the rubbing technique.

So most of it has gone, will continue to rub and soap as appropriate.

OcUK proves its worth. By age old experience, no doubt. Thumbs up to everyone in the thread :)

Deodorant worked quite well.

My only gripe with it was the fact there was some thick white residue left all over it that was kinda awkward to get out of the nooks and crannies.

Okay, it's completely cleaned now. Thanks.

Also I don't think HF acid would be a great idea.
