That'll work, as will installing a personal firewall.

A personal firewall will be better! If you are using XP, enable the XP firewall.

Net Send traffic makes up for a huge amount of traffic that gets sent over the internet, as it is UDP orientated, it is very easy to spoof.

IIRC go into your control panel, select Admin tools then Services look for Messenger, right click and stop.

That'll work, but I personally don't think it's good enough. There's still something there that'll be trying to send the message.

If I was you i'd run Ad-Aware, Microsoft Spy Defender, Spybot S&D, A-Squared,
Advanced Spyware Remover and kill it all! :)

From the screenshot, It would appear that he is receiving messages and not sending them. But if they can get through your firewall it would be wise to run the Ad-Aware scan ETC just incase any other nasties got through.

Amazing i was getting bombarded with the exact same ones around dinner time, i disabled the messenger service for it, then i realised i didnt have my ZoneAlarm running, so no wonder they were coming up. :D
