How do i get started

I want to use linux on my file server but ahve a few questions.

Which one shoiuld i choose

Itried putting suse on cd but it made cd corrupt , tried this 3 times, using the iso thingy for mindows power toy

Where can i get it from

How easy is it to setup to my router as a fileserver/ sky + box recorder thingy lol

Try Ubuntu.

As for the CD being corrupt... perhaps check the md5sum of the image before you burn it. Wherever you download it from should be able to provide the md5sums, and you can use the md5sum program from here to check it.
