How do i get the gfx card out of the pci-e slot on A8N

That dam white clip got in the way at the end of the PIC-E slot, so i snapped it off, lol! How the hell are you meant to get the card out with out breaking it?

Use a flathead screwdriver..


BUT BE VERY CAREFUL, if you slip chances are you could kill the mobo or gfx by chipping something..

Suprised you had to snap it, does your card still fit back in ok now or is it loose.

I had exactly the same problem, snapped it off and problem solved

Another vote for breaking it off, i did. The 6600GT fitted fine but fitting the 7800GTX several times, it broke but its not any looser. All depends on the how tight the pci bracket screw is.

Its not to bad trying to remove a single slot card as you can get to the plastic clip, but it was an utter nightmare trying to get my old 6800 ultra ( the leadtek one with the huge heatsink ) out a while back
