How do I go about attaining CCTV

So someone has driven / reversed into my car over the weekend and the only place I can think that this could have happened is the retail park where my local tesco is.

I'm going down to look later on to check if there are any cameras that I might have a hope of having caught whoever did it / confirm it was infact somewhere else.

I'm not really expecting to be able to make out a reg plate, but on the off chance I can I'll be sending it down my local police station to have them done for leaving the scene. They've managed to damage my bumper (which I can probably heat and get back into shape), grille badge, light fixings, arch cover and a tiny, tiny bit of the wing which I'll ultimately need to live with by the looks of things. Not a massive amount of damage but at the same time there's absolutely no way whoever done it wouldn't have noticed as the bumper and arch popped out and light is noticably recessed.

Probably about £200 best case to sort less paint if I leave the wing ( which i'll need to for now as it's a diny dimple right on the corner). From memory the arches come colour coded so I'll just re-fix this and get a new one when the front end gets sprayed next year.

So, IF it looks like it might have been covered how do I actually go about getting a look at the camera, would it be whatever shop the camera is fixed to/outside of or will there be an individual operator I can write to? If so how do I actually find out who it is?

I'd start by speaking to the manager of the shop where the camera is located, and then the local council for any cameras that aren't fixed onto a private business. I wouldn't bank on getting any results though - this has happened to me twice (once when the damage was very serious and cost £1k to sort) and both times the camera owners were spectacularly unhelpful, even when I had a police crime number to give them.

I suspect you'll be right, plus i'm not sure you'd be able to identify any reg plates through them anyway but it feels wrong not to at least try!

Depending on which Tesco store it may well have ANPR cameras on the entry. This is mainly used on car parks where parking is abused, and takes a photograph and logs the numberplate of each car going in.
