How do I go about this?

I bought a Onkyo HT-X22HDX setup and it's working fine.

Got it hooked up to my Sky HD, PS3 and soon to be media centre PC.

Anyway. I have to use the two remote controls to operate the telly, which is a bit annoying. Sky remote for channels and the Onkyo remote to alter volume and mute it.

This is a bit annoying to say the least.

I know the Sky remote is a kind of universal as it gets tuned into your telly to stop this problem with your telly remote. So I was wondering, could it be tuned into the onkyo to control the volume?

If not... any other ways, other than a Logitech harmony or similar?

Spend some time having a look at the Satcure web site. There's a comprehensive section about the Sky remote, what it can do, how it can be programmed, and the codes required etc

Pretty sure there's an option on the Onkyo which lets you use the TV remote to adjust volume, no codes needed.

I've got the same system and my Tv remote and Sky remote change the volume on the onkyo fine...

Yer option 6 in Setup there's an option called TV Control, enable it.

Unless I've got the wrong end of the stick here...

Not even with your TV remote? Strange I've got a Samsung B651 so pretty old and it just "works" as does the sky so long as the sky remote is tuned to work the sound on the TV.

Saying that different TV plus mines the older system Onkyo HTX-22HD, I don't get the fancy on screen menus

You tried, err, reading the manual? Maybe I've missed something as I set it up 2 years ago. But if I deselect the TV Control option then the volume control stops working.

I've got a harmony due tomorrow anyway. So no big deal. However if I could get this to work. I'd be tempted to use it elsewhere perhaps.

I will look into it a bit more tomorrow when I'm tweaking around and see how I get on.
