I have a Dell Dimension E520 and even witht he help of Dell forums and CPU-Z I do not know the specifications of the motherboard.

I will be selling it on ebay so I NEED to know if it has onboard sound or not.
It doesn't have an 'actual' sound card.

This may seem like a silly question.
Please help! :D

I presume it plays a little jingle when you boot up? And you say it doesn't have a sound card!
can only leave one possible outcome. AC'97 for the win.

Look at the back of the case. If you have onboard sound (or graphics) then the ports will be in the same I/O plate as eveything else at the back. If you have a soundcard or graphics card then these will be visible in an expansion slot sitting at 90 degrees to everything else.

I was scared that it was a completely ridiculous question :)
Yes it has sound outputs, back and front and yes I have heard sound from it xD

My bad :P
Thanks all ^^

Although technically it wouldn't be a card, just a controller chip.
