Hi. I'm looking to add 1 gig to my Abit IT7-MAX2.

On abit's website it says: Supports up to 2GB of un-buffered DDR 200/266

So i went on ebay and bought some ram. here's everything it says on the stickers:
Infineon 64Mx72 SDRAM
PC2100R-20330-CO
512mb, DDR, 266, CL2,ECC Reg.

everyother time i bougth ram all i looked at was the ddr number (266 in this case) and the size. when i try and put this memory in the moetherboard it says DRAM is incorrectly inserted (long beep). It definatey is corectly inserted.

Question is, is the ram faulty or is there a chance it won't work? one thing i didn't check was whetehr it's unbufferred or not but i can't seem to find that anywhere.

any help is appreciated.

problem is I can't start that computer up because there's no ram.

I've looked at a few shops online and it seems whenever they say non-ECC, they say unbuffered next to it, sometimes only with a "/" in between which makes me think they';re the same thing.

IF i just get ram that's non-ecc and non buffered surely that would work?
