I am lowering my voltages on my current 4.5GHz overclock to find lowest most stable settings. I am using Prime95.

How do I know when things become unstable? Will the system just crash?

my I5 ran prime fine no errors, then suddenly hung whilst was streaming video, porb say a good test is to run comp doing what you want it to do and see if it hangs, then asses what you can and tweak.

Btw i had mine running at 4.8 with core V at 1.31 when this happened, ran prime for 6hrs fine

I've started to use cinebench to test my overclocks before anything else. It generally just fails to benchmark and returns an error, rather than triggering a bluescreen, so you know you need to tweak something.

It isn't a true stress test, but it's a quick way of knowing if you need more volts etc.
