i was in bios sorting ram and i noticed it saying my version is E7A39AMS.290, so im guessing this is it? im used to codes like F3/F5 etc.

i want to make sure the bios supports 2nd gen and not sure if the latest from msi dated back in november is the one to have, its 7A39v2J, but reading the previous ones im not sure which is the best one. i need to check my chipset first as advised on site anyways.

Doesn't CPU-Z tell you what bios version you have on the "Mainboard" tab?

thanks for reply.

i didnt think about that at the time as i went straight to bios to deal with my memory, but cpu-z and speccy both say the same bios and yeah its dated back to 2017 lol, so would definitely benefit from an update.

i take it i should just get the latest? ive done updates for system stuff before, but newest wasnt always best/suitable and cant say ive ever updated a bios, so dont want to mess up.
