How do I mount my Nexus 5 as a drive on a Mac?

I never use mac os, had put a few films on my phone to watch through my brother in law's mac.

Assumed plug and play would just work, but it didn't seem to show up.

Any ideas? It's a newish macbook I think..

swipe down to get access to the control center and then touch on the icon that says connected as media device.

I just read OSX 10.9 possibly blocks MTP.

There's an official Android Data Transfer app that I used on my wife's N7... Might work for you.
