How do I move a payg number to another payg phone?

So far I've not been able to find this information when searching online.

My situation is I have a pay as you go (payg) phone with Three. It's an older phone with the old type big sim card in. The phone is now starting to freeze and auto reboots.

So I'm after buying a new payg phone, keeping with the same network. But I'd like to move my old number to the new phone (new phone has the nano-sim).

How do I go about doing this?

As anyone here been in this situation? What did you do?
 
Just ring Three and tell them what you want. They'll probably send you a new nano sim then transfer the number to it. Could prolly get a phone at the same time.

afaik it's possible to trim a sim down to size, but why bother when they'll just send you a new sim the right size.
 
You're much better off contacting Three and asking them to swap your SIM to a new nano SIM, for Three it takes around 24 hours to transfer the number. You can still purchase the new phone as well and stick the new SIM into that.
 
I cut my old orange simcard down to size to fit my current phone.

samsung from a few years ago though, not sure if sim cards went even smaller since.

I did fill the form on the three website for a new sim on 2 occasions but never received anything

google about cutting the sim card to size
