Well, as the title says;

I've been looking all over the Ultramon and nVidia CP settings but no luck.

How do I move the windows start button and system tray to right-hand monitor?

I've got monitor 2 set as primary and stuff, and everything "happens" on this monitor, but the start menu is on the left monitor :(

Can I change that?

No because then it will think that monitor is on the left, so when I move my mouse off-screen, I'll be moving my mouse to the right to get to the left hand screen... if you get what I'm saying?

Can't you just set your primary as the right monitor?

I've done that, but the taskbar wants to stay on the left hand one  The primary monitor is set as this one, and all the error messages, installations... everything... it all happens on this right-hand monitor. But the start menu etc is still on the left-hand monitor!

Moving cables and stuff isn't outta the question ofc, as long as it works properly (e.g. the mouse moves from one screen to the other properly), but just swappin the cables will be just like me moving the two monitor's positions? So like I say, the mouse would move to the wrong side of one monitor to enter the wrong side of the other :p

Try this:

1. Right click an empty section of the taskbar and deselect the 'lock the taskbar' option

2. Left click hold and drag the taskbar onto the right hand screen.

Jon done! :)

Ah, sweet!

But now the left hand monitor has no taskbar!

So how do I add a new taskbar to the left monitor? (running nVidia drivers and Ultramon)

I think you need special software to get a taskbar on both screen - there is a good one out there, cant for the life of me remember whats its called though :| will edit when I remember :)

Sorry. No ideas on that I'm afraid.

Not even sure if that's possible - you want a taskbar on the other screen, but without the start button and system tray?

Or a full start menu on each screen?

No I mean an empty taskbar. It's defo possible because it were on the other screen, and when I right clicked it I had the option to add another taskbar. But now I've closed that taskbar and therfor have lost the option to add another!!!

Wahey sorted!

Double click the ultramon icon
Untick "use smart taskbar"
OK
Double click the ultramon icon
Re-tick "use smart taskbar"
Taskbar should appear over the start menu
Right click the new taskbar
Add Taskbar For -> Monitor 1
Taskbar appears on left hand monitor
Right click second taskbar on right monitor -> Close

Done! :D I'll stick a piccy of my new setup in my first thread :)

Did you know that in the display options on the settings tab where it shows 2 monitors labelled "1" and "2" you can drag the monitors about either side of each other, on top or completely unaligned?
