How do I partition my hard drive?

I got vista on my 74gig raptor and Im finding it unusable for some things at the moment. I would just like a 2nd partition so I can put xp back on it for a short time.

Is it possible to do or does your hdd need to be wiped before you can partition?

Yeah I've done it a few times without wiping any data, I used the GParted live CD, for mine. Also all the guides recommend defragmenting first with a proper defragmenter (ie not the default windows program).

It's worked for me, but theres always a chance it could go wrong, so it would be an idea to backup any valuble information before making any changes.

Also Partition Magic can do this, although you have to pay for it I think.

Doesnt look like I can. Partition magic wont run on vista.
