Ok, sorry to be a pain But i just got my Itouch and im off to India tomorrow. How do i put whatever video i want on it for the plane? Do i need to convert it or something?

The video's i want to put on are mostly avi's but im sure some might be divx and all sorts of other weird and wonderful video and audio codexed.

Whats the quickest, easiest and cheapest (looking for freeware) way for me to do this?

Thanks

Perhaps posting this in the *actual* apple forum will get you a reply quicker?

Other than that I would be able to tell you but my MacBook pro HD is dead. :p Plus I think your on winblows :p

Firstly download this wonderful app: http://mediacoder.sourceforge.net/

Select favourite vid, encode the file at arounds 350kbps and Audio using LAME MP3. That way you get a small file size without compromising on quality.

Then once file is exported, load into itunes video and sync.

Done :)

Edit: Just seen your spec in sig, have fun encoding! :D

I have an exam at 12 till 3 so im not fussed and you can leave this baby running. But i am surprised how long it takes on such a decent machine to encode something so small.

I thought the same, but in all honesty, its not a big deal. With a good rig you can still browse and carry on what you were doing providing it isn't a beastly task :)

After spending ages doing some episodes it didnt work! I did exactly what you said but the files dont even play, it gives me an error sign and so itunes wont import them obviously. Ive tried twice.

Any ideas?

download videora and convert it to the 6th Gen video, you'll save like 75% of space but 90% of image quality. then drop it in the movies in itunes and then sync it. Best of it is that you can queue videos, so just keep add to the queue and let it run and set it output to a folder of your choice.
