Recently disabled page file and restarted but win7 (64bit HP) created a temporary page file on my system drive (C
of about 16GB in size leaving me with less than 1GB free space. I have tried the following:
1) enabled a 4GB page file on my E: drive and disabled paging on C: - restarted and the system shows that there is no page file on C: and 4GB on E: but I still have less than 1GB space on C: as if the temp page file is still there so...
2) enabled system managed page file on C: and got prompted if I want to overwrite the existing page file (so even though system reports no page file on C: it found one when i enabled it) so I clicked yes to overwrite - restarted then disabled page file on C: still leaving page file on E: - restarted again and I am back to square one:
System reports no page file on C: and 4GB page file on E: however the C: drive has still not freed up the space taken originally by the temp page file and has less than 1GB space remaining!
Anyone know how I can delete this temporary page file from C: please?
