I can't get into my garden shed because I misplaced the padlock key. Last time I did this, I was able to borrow a pair of bolt cutters which cut through the padlock like butter. Is there any way I can break this padlock without spending £20+ on a bolt cutter?

What kind of padlock is it? Pics? Some of the small ones can be done with a paperclip.

Or unscrew the fixings on the shed.

If its open a small cheap padlock you could probably pick the lock pretty easily with a paperclip/hairclip and a screwdriver.

I've done this already so just do it the easy way ;)

Get a long screwdriver, the thickest that will fit
Put it through the shank
Rotate around the lock

The lock will break surprisingly easily (tested on 30mm Abus)

I'll try a paperclip. Hammer is in shed, lol. I've always wanted to test if I'm capable of a career as a burglar, now's my chance. :p Tried a junior hacksaw to no avail. My builder tried a hammer and chisel to no avail. And it's really difficult getting all the screws off surrounding the bolt. I don't want to rip the wood around it.

Shed has seen better days!

Your builder sounds under equipped, I could get that off with just what's in my car :D

remove the rotted beading around the window and take the pane out
reach in and undo the bolt nuts from the other side

I can't make out the hinges, but if they are screwed in, unscrew them.
