So... going to try and explaint this.

Iv got one of these convertors that sits in 3 5.25 bays and converts them into 5 HD bays.

BUT my 5.25in bays have like shelfs for the CD ROMS and these kinda get in the way of the new-doc thing. They're like metal things that stick out on each side beneath the CD ROM (?).

Is there anyway to remove these? They look like they are cut out and folded in - how hard is it to reshape this metal stuff or chop them off?

Varies from case to case, but mutilation may be your only option. What's the case?

mmm some cheap kinda case, ill get the name earlier - nothing fancy. But im pretty sure it's like steal? Or somthing hard to bend with hand at least, not going to happy.

What ways are they to mutilate? Im pretty sure this will be the only one.

From what your describing are the 'shelves' bent metal from the actual drive bay? If it is what i am thinking then you should be able to bend them back using a decent pair of pliers.

Or dremel if you cant get they bent back into the vertical position (assuming they are what I'm thinking about, protrusions from the vertical sheet for HDDs to rest on)

It's difficult to get the shelves bent back with pliers (just because of difficult access), you're probably best off cutting them off as Sukh suggests.
